Meet Our Team

WHO ARE WE?

At MindFit Counseling we are comprised of diverse backgrounds. We are parents, a veteran of the Army National Guard, a coworker, a significant other, a homemaker, a daughter and a sister. We all play so many roles in our lives as you probably do. At MindFit Counseling, our one true passion is helping others achieve their goals, develop their mind and be the best they can be in any role that they play.


Jessica Panaich Ed.S., LMHC

EXPERIENCE

Jessica has 10 years of experience in community counseling services to include training and experience in both Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems and Trauma Focused CBT.

She's primarily worked with adults and adolescents addressing life stressors, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She really enjoys working with parents of children diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. She has a special interest in Brainspotting – a focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of challenging symptoms. And yes, she work with veterans.

Amanda Moon MSW, LCSW, RPT

EXPERIENCE

Amanda has 15 years of experience with community and therapy services that include training in Play Therapy, TF-CBT, MANDT and Positive Behavior Support.

She has primarily worked with children and adolescents with behavioral issues and intellectual disabilities, to also include autism, ADHD, ODD and mental illness. She really enjoys working in the sandtray and helping children process difficult life challenges or trauma.

Katheryn Shelton MA, LMHC, ATR

EXPERIENCE

Katheryn has 7 years of experience with community and therapy services that include training in TF-CBT, suicide bereavement, and AF-CBT.

She works primarily with adults, adolescents, and older children addressing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, and stressors. As a registered art therapist, she enjoys utilizing art therapy to help individuals express thoughts and emotions through an expressive lens.

Stacey Myers M.A., LMHC

EXPERIENCE

Stacey started out in Finance and eventually came to understand that her passion lies in helping others to live their best life. She has over 8 years experience working in community mental health. She has worked primarily with adults and teens, and couples dealing with stress, emotional distress, emotional regulation difficulties, chronic illness, relationship difficulties, LGBTQ concerns, and complex trauma.

She has a wealth of experience working with Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar, Anxiety) for both adults and teens. She is LGBTQ experienced and knowledgeable regarding the challenges these individuals face in our society. She has worked with couples and peer relationships to enhance intimate connections. Stacey also has education and experience working with individual's distress related to complex trauma. Complex trauma holds a special interest for her. Stacey is Phase 2 trained in Brainspotting and working toward certification. Stacey also earned her Certificate in Professional Coaching from Indiana Wesleyan University so she could provide Life Coaching services as well as counseling.

Samantha Sheehan BBA, Master's Level Intern in Counseling

Samantha is currently our Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) intern. She is very passionate about helping clients on their journey to a healthier and more fulfilling life. She uses mindfulness-based techniques and CBT. Samantha also incorporates elements of mindful breathing techniques for a more unique approach to therapy. As an intern, Samantha is eager to learn and apply more approaches.

She enjoys working with issues such as stress management, anxiety, depression, new life phases, life balance, and coping. She primarily works with older teens (18+) and adults.

As an intern, Samantha has implemented and taught psycho-educational groups for burnout, compassion fatigue, and self-care.

Tricia McNeil M.S., LMHC

Tricia has over 10 years of experience in various counseling settings from community and home-based to hospitals and schools. Counseling experience includes working with anxiety, depression, life changes, grief, trauma, Autism, and ADHD. She enjoys working with adults and parents of children needing early prevention work. She uses Trust-Based Relational Intervention - a therapeutic model that trains parents and caregivers to provide effective support and treatment for at-risk children.

Tricia enjoys working with clients to listen, support and facilitate growth while seeking to aid in navigating through life changes and transitions. She is trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Brainspotting - a focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional body pain, trauma, and a variety of distressing symptoms.

Amy Surface MA, LMHCA

Amy earned her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in December, 2020 and is working toward independent licensure as our Mental Health Counseling Associate. She has worked with domestic violence survivors as well as adults and teens struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationship issues. Amy has extensive training in mindfulness and has facilitated teen groups as well as adult workshops teaching mindfulness fundamentals and mindful meditation.

Amy is Phase I trained in Brainspotting - a focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional body pain, trauma, and a variety of distressing symptoms.

Clinical Mental Health Intern

EXPERIENCE

Christy is currently our Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) intern. She uses a multidisciplinary approach combining strength-based and ACT models with brain-based models such as mindfulness and brainspotting. Christy also incorporates elements of Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, and mindful breathing techniques for a more unique approach to therapy. Christy believes in the unique strengths of each client and is passionate about walking with them as they journey to discover and achieve a heathier and more fulfilling life. 

She enjoys working with issues such as ADHD, stress management, anxiety, depression, trauma, gender confusion, life calling, and career. She primarily works with adolescents (13 +) and adults.

Christy has implemented and taught psycho-educational groups for adolescent girls struggling with identity, and low self-esteem, and groups for college students regarding self-care practices.
