Katie Mottweiler CMHC-Intern

Katie is an Intern Therapist at MindFit, currently completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and Addictions Counseling at Butler University. Drawing on her experience in mental health and addiction research, she provides thoughtful, evidence-based care that emphasizes connection while meeting clients where they are on their journey.

Katie believes that every person has the capacity for growth and healing when they feel safe, understood, and accepted as they are. She views therapy as a collaborative process and is deeply committed to helping clients understand themselves with curiosity rather than judgment. She strives to provide clients with a therapeutic environment that is collaborative, non-judgmental, and empowering. Katie strives to maintain a space that is feminist, anti-racist, and LGBTQ+ affirming.

Katie uses an integrative, trauma-informed, and person-centered approach that pulls from Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

While she is motivated to work with a diverse set of clients, Katie has a special interest in working with teens and young adults navigating Anxiety, Depression, substance use, and chronic illness.
