Katie joins MindFit Counseling as a therapist intern while completing her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Butler University. Her background in elementary and special education, combined with certification in Applied Educational Neuroscience, laid the foundation for her brain‑based, relational, and developmentally attuned approach to care.

Katie's clinical work is grounded in trauma‑informed, feminist, anti‑racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and neurodiversity‑affirming frameworks. Her person-centered, integrative approach draws from Compassion‑Focused Therapy, Solution‑Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and somatic and mindfulness-based practices.

Katie prioritizes relational attunement, warmth, and strengths‑based collaboration. She is passionate about helping clients cultivate self‑compassion, understand their internal patterns, deepen mind-body awareness, and move toward healing in ways that feel safe and empowering. She believes deeply in the capacity for growth and transformation - that even our most difficult experiences can become powerful sources of meaning and resilience.

While Katie is eager to work with individuals across the lifespan, she has a special interest in supporting women's issues and identity, as well as parents - including those navigating the perinatal and postnatal continuum. She is also drawn to working with neurodivergent adults, adolescents, and children, including those with PDA (Persistent Drive for Autonomy/Pathological Demand Avoidance), and individuals navigating chronic illness.

Outside the counseling room, you can find Katie spending time with her family, including her preschool‑aged son, exploring local thrift stores, reading, and tending to her garden.
