Noelle Carter is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with nearly 17 years of experience working in psychiatric mental health nursing, both as a Registered Nurse and as an Advanced Practice Provider. After graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007, she had the privilege of spending 1.5 years serving in medical missions in Costa Rica. Upon returning to the US in 2009, she began her career in her native Grand Rapids, Michigan. She quickly found her love and passion for psychiatric mental health nursing and over the years has remained dedicated to this field. This dedication, along with a wide range of clinical expertise, led her to pursue her advanced nursing practice degree of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Noelle has extensive experience working in inpatient, outpatient, correctional, educational, and consult liaison settings. She values building purposeful connections with her patients to identify their treatment goals and support their healing and growth. Her approach is person-centered, focusing on each individual’s unique needs and strengths, to promote empowerment, insight, and lasting change.
Noelle provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnoses, along with medication management, across the lifespan. Treatment plans are individualized and evidence based to help individuals achieve optimal functioning and quality of life. Noelle’s clinical expertise include depression, anxiety, trauma and stress related disorders, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, psychosis, substance use disorders, characterological disorders, and select neurodevelopmental disorders.
Noelle lives locally with her husband and two children. She currently calls herself “Uber Mom” as the majority of her free time is spent carting children from here to there. When she is not in her vehicle, she enjoys good food, fitness, reading and spending time with family.
